Q: I recently got a paper to fill out saying I was being reviewed. The paperwork with it says I will hear from my local office soon, but I have heard nothing so far. Should I have heard something by now or should I be doing something to ensure that my payments continue?
A: Insurance companies review open claims from time to time. Generally they will not stop payments without notice to you. The best thing to do to ensure that your payments continue is to follow your physician's directions and see your doctors at appropriate intervals for treatment/assessment. Ultimately the insurance company may terminate your payments in which case you have the right to appeal that termination.
