Frequently Asked Questions about Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, and Insurance Disputes

Q: Can the LTD company make me go to court even though I am working again?  If SSD determines that I was not disabled, is it possible that I can still get money from my LTD carrier for the time when I was sick and not working?

A: Nobody can "make you go to court".  If you are working again your long-term disability insurance payments may be terminated as this is evidence that you do not meet the definition of disability in your plan.  You may still be eligible for long-term disability payments even though Social Security has determined that you are not disabled under their standards.  The standards are different.
