$200,000.00 Verdict Against Phantom Vehicle

A Norfolk Circuit Court jury has returned a verdict of $200,000.00 in favor of an automobile accident victim who suffered a head injury, a small fracture in the neck and a left knee wound which required 20 stitches.  His entire treatment lasted about two months and he had no permanent impairment.

The claim was against "John Doe" an alleged phantom driver who caused the accident but left the scene. 
The insurance company had made a small offer to settle the case. 

This type of claim can be made under the uninsured motorist portion of your Virginia car insurance policy. You must prove that there was a 'phantom' vehicle and that the driver of that vehicle carelessly caused your injuries.
