Car Accident in Lorton Send Two To Hospital

According to an article at LortonPatch.com, and to local police, a two-car accident yesterday morning closed a two-mile stretch of Route 1 north of Telegraph Road for about an hour and-a-half.
Apparently, a late model Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound on Route 1 when the driver attempted to make a u-turn near Britten Road. The car struck a Chrysler 300 traveling southbound on Route 1.
The driver of the Toyota was taken by helicopter to INOVA Fairfax with a broken leg and other minor injuries.The driver of the Chrysler, a middle-aged male, was taken by ambulance to INOVA Fairfax with a compound fracture in his ankle.
Police say the driver of the Toyota will be charged with reckless driving.
