Seattle Children's Hospital director David Fisher admitted to the family of a 15 year old autistic child who died following a simple dental procedure that the "hospital had failed its patient" according to a lawsuit filed against the hospital and dentist Barbara Sheller, DDS.
The lawsuit, filed by Seattle Personal Injury Attorney Christopher Davis, alleges that 15 year old Michael Blankenship died following a massive dose of the narcotic, Fentanyl, delivered through a "pain patch." The lawsuit alleges that never before had Dr. Sheller prescribed a Fentanyl pain patch to any patient.
In 2008, a Florida jury awarded over $13 million to the family of a woman who's death was caused by a Fentanyl pain patch.
