Virginia Supreme Court upholds verdict following a fire in the operating room

After an unthinkable fire caused horrendous injuries for a woman undergoing simple thyroid surgery a trial resulted in a $4 million verdict. The verdict was reduced per Virginia's "reform" statutes but the defendant surgeon who is found responsible for the fire appealed.
