Virginia Supreme Court upholds verdict following a fire in the operating room

After an unthinkable fire caused horrendous injuries for a woman undergoing simple thyroid surgery a trial resulted in a $4 million verdict. The verdict was reduced per Virginia's "reform" statutes but the defendant surgeon who is found responsible for the fire appealed. Recently, the Supreme Court of Virginia dismissed her appeal has been filed too late. You can read the rest of the story involving an operating room fire here.
